RULES SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Use of Non-Official Hardware (Emulation)

For "High Score" submissions, all emulator submissions are accepted. Emulators must run at 100% speed at all times and an unaltered Star Fox 64 ROM file must be used. There are no restrictions to which emulator or ROM version is used.

For "Speedrun" submissions (e.g. 2k%)

Emulators must use the following settings:

Project 64 v1.7 or earlier
Star Fox 64 (U) v1.0 ROM
Memory Size 4MB
Counter Factor 2
All other settings default

Use of Non-Official Controllers

Non-official Nintendo 64 controllers are permitted as long as every input is controlled by the player.

"Turbo" controllers are prohibited.
"2-to-1 button macros" (e.g. pressing one button to trigger A + B) are not allowed.
Multiple buttons representing a single input (e.g. multiple A buttons) is allowed as long as each button is pressed individually.

All Submissions Require Video Proof

Full video proof from start to finish of every level is required.
"Total Hits" runs must show every level and the final score after Venom.
"Individual Level" runs must show the entire level from start to finish.
Editing down video length is allowed, but raw, unedited footage MUST be available to mods for verification.

Usage of Cheats/GameShark

For "Individual Level" runs, cheats or save states may be used to quickly access a level.

Permitted Cheats:

Cheats that alter bomb count, laser status, or grant unlimited lives, as long as these values are possible at the start of the level.

Prohibited Cheats:

Cheats that alter gameplay mechanics, e.g. infinite health, unbreakable wings.

Restrictions:

Corneria (Main Game or Expert) MUST start with single lasers, 3 bombs, and all teammates alive.
Sector Y (Expert) must start with no more than 7 bombs.

For "Total Hits" and "Single Life" runs, all cheats and save states are prohibited.

Infinites Definition

"Infinites" = any method to indefinitely farm points, including:

Grinding Wolfen 2 enemies in Venom 2 (Andross' Eyes are permitted).
Grinding Bolse enemies before shield destruction.
Grinding fire plumes during Vulcain (Solar boss).

Community Guidelines

In addition to gameplay rules, all community members are expected to follow these standards of behavior across forums, Discord, streams, and any affiliated spaces.

Respect Others

Treat all community members with courtesy. Disagreements are fine, but personal attacks, insults, or sustained negativity are not.

No Harassment or Bullying

Harassment, stalking, threats, or attempts to intimidate others are strictly prohibited. This includes targeting individuals repeatedly in chat, DMs, or public forums.

Zero Tolerance for Discrimination

Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated. Slurs, derogatory language, or "jokes" targeting marginalized groups are grounds for removal.

Keep Politics and Religion Out

Political or religious debates often create division and are not permitted in community spaces. This includes promoting ideologies, campaigns, or agendas unrelated to the game or community.

No NSFW or Offensive Content

Pornographic, sexually explicit, excessively violent, or otherwise inappropriate material is forbidden.

Play Fair & With Integrity

Respect moderators, rules, and fellow players. Do not attempt to cheat, falsify submissions, or mislead others.

Protect Privacy

Do not share personal information (yours or others') without consent. Doxxing, even as a "joke," is an immediate ban.

Moderation Decisions

Moderators have final say in disputes. Appeals can be made respectfully, but arguing or harassing mods will not be tolerated.
